Happy New Year!

Well, another year has come to a close. God has really blessed us this year. We are not as financially blessed as we would like, but God has given us everything we need this year. It has been very interesting to see Him work in our lives. It is my prayer that we will see Him even more this next year. It is fun to be able to show the kids exactly when and how God answers prayer.

One thing we are all doing this year is Bible reading. We are having a challenge at church and we have decided to go through with it. Tammi and I will be reading the entire Bible in Chronological order, and the kids are going to read the New Testament over the year. They are really excited about it. I encourage all of my faithful readers - # of subscribers are still not even able to fill a couch - to go ahead and take the challenge as well. I did it for the first time a couple of years ago, and I really enjoyed it. If anybody reading this is interested I have a chronological chart I can send to them!

We had a fairly quiet day here today. Tammi has been cleaning the house like crazy this week, and today the basement received the full force of her attention. I was working on getting my financial software caught up so I can try to have a better handle on things next year. We are now looking forward to sitting down and watching a movie and seeing if we can stay awake until the new year comes in.

So, again, I wish all of you who may read the happiest of New Year's. May you grow closer to God if you know Him, but more importantly may you get to know Him if you don't. I would love to help anyone who has questions. Gotta run!

Merry Christmas - The Day After

Well, it is Monday, and I went to work today. It took a lot of work to get out of the driveway, because the Cookie van was stuck in 6 holes about 5 inches deep. It seems that when I got home on Friday and parked the van it was sitting on a slush/snow mix. As the temperature got warmer the van sank. Then this morning everything was frozen. So, I had to get the tractor out to pull the van out.

This went well, but now I have a nice bow in the front bumper of the cookie van. The rope slipped and bowed it out a good 8 inches in the center. I was able to push it against a concrete pole at a store and get it pushed back some, but I have to go out and try to get it the rest of the way back. It shouldn't be too hard.

Well, Here are a couple of pics of the kids with presents on Christmas Day. Have a good one!

PS - Somebody told me I do not post enough, but he hasn't exactly been burning up the keyboard himself! ;-)

Another try for the lights

Well, I am trying again to get my lights picture put up. I hope it will go in this time. Since it just popped up beside the box where I am typing I guess it worked.

Not much going on today. Church went well, but Tammi is very sick today. She has been running a fever all day and just feels awful. It really bothers me to have to leave here at home when I come in to the church, but I don't really have much choice.

I had to sing this morning. I think it went OK. Tammi came in long enough to play and hear me this morning and then she went home. She said it sounded good, but she is prejudiced. I was just glad my voice held out for it. Ever since I got done I have had a tickle in the back of my throat. I am hoping I am not going to get sick again.

There is a lot going on this week. I have all of the regular hassle of the busy season combined with the extra fun that the end of the quarter is two weeks away. Combine that with a healthy dose of not going to hit my number, and you can imagine the fun phone calls I will be fielding this week. Oh, but to make that little treasure even better I will be receiving a company NEXTEL phone this week too. Now a but chewing is even closer than ever. Funny how I can bet that thing will never go off with an atta-boy!

I know it sounds like I hate my job lately, but it is really just the end of the year push. This year sales have been soft, and I am not going to hit my number. That bothers me, but I did all I felt I could do. I am just looking forward to next year. Hopefully I will see a real turn-around and start throwing some new numbers on the board. I have some things I want to get done this next year, and I need some money to make them happen.

The biggest thing I need to get done is a new truck. I am not sure how long old "Black Beauty" is going to hang on. My Dad has told me about a truck at Merit (his employer) that he thinks he can get at auction real cheap. It is an older Ford 1/2 ton. Says the outside is dinged a bit, but solid. The interior needs some work. Engine runs very well, 4-wheel drive, V-8, A/C... I am hoping he can get it really cheap. If I can put a little into it and have something solid and somewhat dependable I can hold off on my dreams of my 3/4 ton Chevy for a couple of years. I have grown so much...I am contemplating the purchase of a Ford. I'm sure God will bless me for going through a trial like this!

Well, I'm gonna run now. To my faithful readership of one - since nobody else ever lets me know they read - I bid you good night!

Just a quick one

I have received complaints from my large readership - 1 person - that I have not been updating enough, so here is a little something. Hello! I am done with Christmas shopping! Today I have to go do a family thing and I would rather have a swift kick in the... Any way, lots going on around here. Work still has been slow, but the next couple of weeks should do well. Gotta run!

More on the way!

Well, we got about 3 inches of snow during the day today, and there is more coming. 6 inches tonight, and another 6 tomorrow. The school program is in jeopardy, and if I did all that work and watched my wife go nuts for nothing I'm gonna kill somebody! On the brighter side, I feel a lot better today. Did some work in the sound room at church, and then came home and shoveled a to of snow. Kinda weird, it's like mowing the lawn. You hate to have to do it, but when you get started it gets a little bit fun and you are proud when you finish. Maybe I'm just weird. Later!
